people act as if SSDs are new technology... guess nobody remembers something called 'hard cards', dating back to 1980s... banks of static ram on a board, static vs. dynamic... static dont lose info when powered down like dynamic ram does (modern ram)... however it was VERY pricy, and didnt offer much space... had an SSD in my "navigation" laptop about 2 years.. cause hard drives cant take the contant vibration...
as is... i have no clue why anyone would want an SSD for a minecraft server... SSD's are awesome for lowering the latency of drive read/writes, however minecraft barely touches that... downfall of SSD's is limited writes before failure... meaning scheduled defrags need to be turned off
